The Willie Gunn salmon fly is a simple but deadly Hair Wing pattern, which is also regularly tied on various sized tubes. The fly originated in Scotland but now the Willie Gunn is equally popular in Ireland. In sizes smaller than 10 the bucktail may be replaced by squirrel.
