The Bann Special Shrimp salmon fly is one of the most successful shrimp patterns in the country. It originated in the Lower Bann region but is now widely used throughout Ireland. The Bann Special Shrimp is particularly good for moving stale fish. The original body pattern was floss but more people now use seals fur or more recently, Lite Brite

Thread: Yellow, Black
Tag: Flat or oval Silver tinsel
Tail: Golden pheasant Red breast feather
Rear Body: Yellow floss, seals fur or lite brite
Rear Body Rib: Oval Silver tinsel
Mid Hackle: Hot Orange cock saddle
Front Body: Black floss, seals fur or lite brite
Front Body Rib: Oval Silver tinsel
Cheeks: Jungle cock
Front Hackle: Badger cock
Head: Black
